IPSA (Institute for Natural Resource Development and Research) was founded by Gede Ngurah Wididana in 1997. This institution was established through a collaboration between several organizations, including IKNFS (Indonesian Kyusei Nature Farming Societies), EMRO (Effective Microorganisms Research Organization), APNAN (Asia Pacific Natural Agricultural Network), and INFRC (International Nature Farming Research Centre).

IPSA is a research and development institution focused on natural resources, covering fields of science and technology to develop and utilize natural resources for sustainable development.
IPSA built an education and research center for EM (Effective Microorganisms) Technology in Bengkel Village, Busung Biu District, Buleleng. Since 1997, monthly EM Technology training sessions have been conducted on a regular basis. By 2011, IPSA had successfully trained over 4,000 participants across 231 training cohorts.

Within the IPSA area, there is a 5-hectare plantation of medicinal and spice plants, serving as a production garden to supply raw materials for Pak Oles Traditional Herbal Medicine Industry (Jamu). The IPSA complex also hosts various facilities including the Pak Oles Traditional Medicine Industry, Bukit Hexon Organic Coffee Industry, Bukit Hexon Herbal Tea Industry, EM4 Liquid Organic Fertilizer Plant, and the Hexon Radio Broadcasting Station.

Aktivitas

IPSA offers services in the form of training and outreach programs for farmers and seminar participants on the application of EM (Effective Microorganism) technology in agriculture, animal husbandry, and waste management.
Participants who register are required to pay a training fee, which includes meals, accommodation, field visits, nature excursions, training materials, and a certificate.

How to recycle organic waste into useful materials
Field visits to local organic farmers
